Gymnastics Ontario Member Since 1996
Lightning Gymnastics is proud to be a member of Gymnastics Ontario, the governing body for gymnastics in the province. This membership ensures our programs meet the highest standards in safety, coaching certification, and athlete development. As part of Gymnastics Ontario, we follow guidelines that promote inclusivity, fair competition, and a positive environment for all participants. Our athletes benefit from access to sanctioned events, competitions, and resources designed to support their growth. Membership in this network reflects our commitment to excellence and fostering a lifelong love for gymnastics.
Safe Sport
At Lightning Gymnastics, we are committed to Safe Sport, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants. We prioritize the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of athletes, coaches, and staff. Our policies and training focus on preventing misconduct, harassment, abuse, and discrimination. By fostering a culture of respect and accountability, we aim to create a positive environment where everyone can thrive and enjoy the sport of gymnastics to the fullest.
Gymnast Conduct and Participation Policy
We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and enriching experience for all gymnasts. Participants, along with their families, must adhere to Gymnastics Ontario's Code of Conduct.

Participants are expected to demonstrate respect for others and uphold their rights and dignity. Any language or behavior that causes discomfort or compromises safety is unacceptable. Coaches have the authority to remove participants from class if they cannot follow the structure within a reasonable level or if their behavior hinders their own progress or the progress of others.

If your child has behavioral or social challenges, we encourage you to discuss this with the coach in advance and remain onsite during training to provide additional support as needed.
Nut Free Facility
Lightning Gymnastics is a nut-free facility. Whether participating in programs or watching from the lobby, no food containing nuts is allowed. This policy ensures the safety of gymnasts with severe allergies. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping all our athletes safe.
Illness Policy
If you or your child exhibit any signs of illness, such as sniffles, coughs, or runny noses, please stay home to prevent spreading germs. Notify the club if your child will be absent.
For the safety of all participants, children may be asked to leave class if they display symptoms of illness. Your consideration is greatly appreciated by all our families.
Class Cancellations
In the event that the facility must close due to inclement weather or circumstances beyond our control, updates will be posted on our website and social media channels.
For other class cancellations, parents will be notified directly via email. Notification will be sent at least one hour before the scheduled class. Please ensure your contact information is kept up-to-date in the Parent Portal (Uplifter).
Make Up Classes
If the club cancels a class, a make-up session will be offered, or a credit will be issued.
There are no refunds or fee adjustments for missed classes due to illness or non-attendance.
Photo/Video
Lightning Gymnastics occasionally takes photos and videos of gymnasts for educational and training purposes. If you have concerns about this practice, please contact the office.
To protect the privacy and safety of our athletes, photography and video recording by spectators is strictly prohibited.
The club may request parents or guardians to sign a consent form for the use of photos or videos in promotional materials, including the website, brochures, newspaper articles, or facility displays. Names will not be used without express permission. Parents or guardians have the right to refuse consent, and this decision will be fully respected.
